Feb 1 – 25, 2021
Venus: goddess of art, romance, pleasure, and beauty. Venus in eccentric Aquarius makes the heart call out for more space and freedom. Prepare for a highly social, exploratory transit. Those born with Venus in Aquarius gravitate towards unusual individuals/circumstances and often end up in unorthodox relationships or living situations. Aquarian individuals make excellent – if not quirky – friends. This is an especially favorable time for natal Aquarians, as well as Gemini and Libra.
Aquarius reminds me of vyana, one of the five prana vayus. Vyana is a physio-spatial energy radiating from the core of the body, out through the skin and beyond. Like Aquarius, vyana rules circulation. In the body this means not just the circulatory system, but also circulation of thoughts, nervous responses, and electrical charges. Outside the body, Aquarius represents circulation of knowledge. The water bearer teaches humanity how to co-create and learn from one another.
As self-aware creatures, Aquarians openly acknowledge that their ideas and opinions are pretty atypical. Aquarius is scattered and unpredictable, yet self-sustaining and independent. The water bearer is truly a visionary. He sees a world without money, laws, jails, borders, or restrictions of any kind: a world in which cooperation is a fact of life.
As an air element, Aquarian energy can make us think too much or rely too much on the logic brain. To cool your galvanized heart, put on some music and dance (a favorite Aquarian pastime). Make big circular movements with your knees, ankles, arms, shoulders, head, spine, and whole body. Writhe like an animal, who cares, no one’s watching. Let your instincts come out and howl. Have mercy on your electric soul. Be yourself, completely and fearlessly.
Mercury will be retrograde for most of this transit (until Feb 20).
On Feb 5, Venus is conjunct Saturn in Aquarius. When Venus (planet of relationships) intersects with Saturn (planet of business), we are introduced to new business partners or business opportunities. We will be very “visible” in a professional sense. A great day to network and put yourself out there. Show off your skills and accomplishments and see what kind of interest you can generate.
Venus squares Uranus in Taurus on Feb 6. Uranian influence is defiant and restless. Venus will then be conjunct Jupiter in Aquarius on the new moon of Feb 11 (Chinese New Year). This is another very social and restless day that gives us so much energy we might not be able to sleep. Good influence for movement and travel. Speaking before thinking is also common with Jupiter – watch for fiery arguments.
Mercury Rx will be conjunct Venus on Feb 12. This will be one of the best days of Mercury Retrograde. Whenever Mercury forms a conjunction to other planets during a retrograde, Mercury receives much-needed support. In this case, Venus provides social and financial support. A good day for difficult conversations / conflict resolution.
Lastly Venus squares Mars in Taurus on Feb 19. This signals stress and conflict in the body. Health issues are up for examination. Restlessness and poor sleep likely.
