Every year Cancer season begins on the summer solstice. Can you feel it? Gemini’s wind giving way to Cancer’s sweet rain? Mercurial Gemini sinks below, the ocean rises.

Cancer is ruled by the moon. Every day the moon rises at a different time and place with a different shape and color. The crab, too, shifts from day to day, moment to moment.

Cancer nurtures all forms of life. She is tender, nostalgic, forever yearning for the sweetness of the past, of home and childhood.

This year the summer solstice comes just two hours after a last-minute square between the Sun in Gemini and Neptune in Pisces. I almost drowned in the Gulf of México during this square last year. It is extremely powerful. Vices and water swirl together into a cosmic whirlpool. Endings and beginnings blur into one.
