Mars in Virgo ♂ 2025

Mars has been retrograde, weaving in and out Cancer & Leo since late last year. It has been thoroughly brutal and I’m so glad we are moving out of the shadow of the retrograde and into more sensical times.

Are you ready? If you’ve been waiting for something, some kind of prompt, this is it, my friends. Get excited about Virgo’s mercurial rhythm. Nonstop thinking, nonstop motion. Mars in Virgo is a serious creature but not necessarily focused. Virgo can actually be extremely scattered. There will be little time for rest or respite. Instead we’ll be on our feet: quick, nimble, wise, perfecting our trade. We will also have to contend with powerful anxiety under the influence of Virgo’s perfectionist pressures.

Mars in Virgo is a highly intellectual and productive influence. As Mars crests the eastern horizon each morning, we will rise with a clear head, seeds of intent sprouting in the dawn. Earthy Virgo is full of reason and rationale; meaning and purpose; tools and skills. It’s time to move, learn, share.

Mars outlines the motivating factor. In Virgo, we are motivated by love of labor and the magic of staying busy. Mars in Virgo demands practice and routine. No more chill time. Virgo gives us definitive direction. She teaches the virtue of hard work and pursuit of knowledge. Her body is lean and wiry, her mind sharp. She goads and perfects, molds and shapes.

Virgos are experts in their given field. They work and accomplish incredible things with less sleep and food than most people require. In fact, they really need to take better care of themselves. What they nourish first and foremost is a) their work and b) other people/animals. Finding a balance between work/school/perfectionism and health/wellness/food/exercise – that is the challenge.

Virgo is best represented by the yogic concept saucha. The most common translation is cleanliness, but saucha is actually the idea that external activities performed to maintain a clean, fresh environment are designed to help us maintain a clean mind and body. External mirrors internal. Chaos in the environment directly translates to chaos in the body.

In the body, Virgo rules the lower digestive tract and sympathetic nervous system. With Mars here, the stomach and digestive system will be extra sensitive. Other than moving every morning and eating nutritionally rich food, we should reduce stress in our environments. Virgo thinks way too much, which means that she worries too much. Try meditation and deep breathing. Take breaks while you work. Sit in a quiet place by yourself and close your eyes. Even just a few minutes of this will clear your mind and increase your productivity.

Mars in Virgo keeps us alert, ready to dive in and take everything on, but my best advice is to actually relax as much as possible into this earthen whirlwind and enjoy the ride babes.

June 18: Quarter Moon in Pisces + Jupiter square Neptune in Aries. Soooo much mutable energy swirling around here. We’ll be so restless that it will be necessary to go out and dance late into the night. The Jupiter-Neptune squares launches the mind far, far into the future. Sparkling visions of what could be are rapidly becoming reality. And you know what, some things are working out even better than we had planned. This square represents a critical juncture in which we can both celebrate our progress and continue to catch glimpses of the future, arriving faster very day.

June 20: Summer Solstice / 1st day of Cancer Season! 🌻

July 7: Uranus enters Gemini 🦋

July 17: Mercury Retrograde in Leo begins 🔥

July 22: Leo Season begins 🦁

July 23: Mars square Venus in Gemini. This is the only major aspect that Mars forms to another planet during its entire stint in Virgo. This difficult aspect speaks to our relationships; the stars say that goodbyes are in order </3 but this is because we are ready for new, healthier patterns <3 it feels scary to let go but wonderful things are waiting for us <3
