The waning Leo sun squares the waxing moon in Scorpio. Moonrise at noon, peak at dusk, moonset at midnight in all time zones.

This moon phase follows the rejuvenating New Moon in Leo on Aug 8. First quarter phases clarify for the coming lunar cycle. Get ready for another Full Moon in Aquarius on Aug 22.

Here we are, walking proudly together down the lion path, and now: a dark encounter with the scorpion.

Leo and Scorpio render transformation of the ego and psyche. These archetypes have little in common besides their fixed nature. Scorpio is the brooding realist of the zodiac with dwindling faith in humanity. She is certainly not a lighthearted critter. What she fears most is being powerless; the art she masters is letting go. A high vibration relationship to the lion and scorpion looks authenticity (Leo) and unshakeable trust (Scorpio).

Leo is ruled by the Sun, the center of our solar system, and Scorpio by Pluto, the planet farthest from center. Imagine the Sun and Pluto stretching their arms out into the vast distance between them, intertwining in some remote asteroid belt. Within you there is an equally vast distance which must be overcome. The center of centers reaches out to the extremes. This is what we must collate and reconcile.

This quarter moon coincides with the first day of Venus in Libra, which is really lovely. The other fabulous news is that the moon will form a nearly exact trine to Neptune Retrograde in Pisces. This should greatly alleviate any turbulence we encounter.
