The August full moon is called the Sturgeon Moon as it coincides with abundant fish catches. Moonrise at sunset, peak at midnight, moonset at sunrise all over the world.

Every year during Leo Season we gather beneath the full moon in change-maker Aquarius. We haven’t had a regular (non-eclipse, non-super moon) full moon in Aquarius since 2021.

Even in “regular” times, Aquarius is the most unpredictable archetype in the zodiac. Think about the most shocking moments of your life (both negative and positive) – these are Aquarian type moments. We should all be prepared for twists and turns, but especially those with natal planets & points in the mid-range degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius.

There is no way to prepare for these events, which is neither good nor bad. Events will simply unfold as they must. We do need to be VERY cautious as this full moon will be in opposition to not just the sun but also Mercury Retrograde in Leo. Additionally there is a separate, unrelated opposition between Mars in Libra and Neptune Retrograde in Aries. I do not recommend traveling; agreeing to any kind of deal or signing anything at all; initiating social contact; or making large purchases. Additionally it is a good idea to avoid vices, especially alcohol.

I believe that this full moon will be one that we all remember. Aquarian energy is erratic, unexpected, and unprecedented. Plans will change suddenly. Weather patterns will shift without warning. Tension will easily boil over into chaos. Stay calm; trust your intuition.

The Full Moon in Aquarius serves as a powerful reminder each year that we don’t really know anything. Though we cannot control what happens around us, we have the power to choose how we react to change. It is precisely this reaction which will define our path beneath this full moon.
