The methodical Sun in Capricorn squares the spicy moon in Aries. Moonrise at noon, peak at dusk, moonset at midnight in all time zones. First quarter moons bring forward vital information for the full moon. This quarter moon follows the New Moon in Capricorn. On Jan 15 the moon enters Cancer, marking the beginning of the full moon.
In the body, Aries rules the muscles and Capricorn the bones. Capricorn, like our skeleton, is the foundation upon which all else rests. Capricorn has to consider elements of life like security and stability. Hot-blooded Aries just wants us to move forward in life. Aries has no structure whatsoever. Through Aries we breathe and come back to life. This primordial fire is what we encounter now as we plan projects of a long-term, structural nature (ruled by Capricorn).
Astrological events in Aries (the first sign in the zodiac) signal that we are ready for all things fresh and new. Moon phases in Aries breathe divine life into whatever excites us most, whatever makes us feel delicious from head to toe.
There is a unique tension between Aries and Capricorn, as is true between all constellations that square one another. Individuals who embody this particular square must wrestle with the highly sexual nature of Aries and the highly practical nature of Capricorn. They can absolutely coexist, with the kindling of Capricorn feeding the fire of Aries.
Winter descends; the goat works out in the cold, late into the night.
