Solar Eclipse in Scorpio 🦂 Oct 25, 2022

Happy new moon and happy eclipse! This partial solar eclipse will be visible from most of Europe, northern Africa, the Middle East, and northwestern Asia.

This solar eclipse circles in the mysterious waters of Scorpio. An eclipse never comes alone. A solar eclipse always arrives two weeks before or after a lunar eclipse. Two weeks after this solar eclipse, we have a Total Lunar Eclipse in Taurus.

We had eclipses in these same constellations back in April/May 2022 so think of this as a revisitation. Think back to those months and what you were working on internally. Scorpio, like her animal counterpart, lives in the unseen parts of human life. We must peer into the shadow, put words to the wordless, shed light on that which repels it.

Scorpio learns the hard way, routinely stinging those she loves most. The greatest challenge for Scorpio is learning how to use her power correctly. Much easier said than done – her power is real and intoxicating. I think what brings Scorpio to her knees is the idea that her power can be channeled in a way that is gentle and graceful. It does not need to be so arduous, so dark, so intense. It can be light and beautiful and forgiving.

Our attention is now directed inward towards our own hidden caverns as well as those of others. We are curious about what motivates others as we ponder our own habits and reactions – what is the root, the origin? Our objective now is to understand every layer of every situation.

In understanding the subconscious motivations of others, we become ever more powerful. However, this inner knowing is really a form of empathy. Insight to the emotions of others makes forgiveness easier. Remember all that we have just learned from Libra Season.

The fixed nature of this phase manifests in the urgency of our needs and desires at this time. Passion is best harnessed when funneled into one thing, not spread around and frittered away. Scorpio values quality over quantity, no exceptions. The key to unlocking scorpion magic is spending time fixedly and passionately on one endeavor; this will be much more successful than diverting our attention to other things that are not as meaningful.

What has become so heavy that you can’t bear it anymore? The scorpion seeks release from pain and suffering. The scorpion is also a master minimalist and essentialist. Get rid of anything you don’t need. Be lighter. Take deep breaths, close your eyes. Feel your spirit spiral in and out.

Great news: this partial solar eclipse will be conjunct Venus in Scorpio.

New moons make us feel more tired than usual. Sleep and silence are important. This is not a social phase. If you feel like resting, please do. This is not a time to push through.
