Mars in Sagittarius feels like holy shit now what? after a powerful transit through Scorpio. In Sagittarius, we make sense of all the changes rendered by the scorpion. Take a deep breath and give yourself a hug because we really are coming out of an intense cycle. The most difficult work is over. Mars in Scorpio brought everything that has been repressed to the surface. We had to address the blockages and now we can move forward. Our body and psyche are ready to heal.
Mars rules vitality, physical strength and decisive action. He is a warrior, fire coursing through his veins. Mars rules Aries, the first constellation in the zodiac and demarcator of the spring equinox, so Mars feels right at home in fellow fire sign Sagittarius.
With Mars in Sagittarius, we are motivated by a need to rise up and take ownership of our spiritual and philosophical journey. There is no longer any resentment or resistance, only enthusiasm. We are shifting into a higher gear now, embracing the magic of optimism and the law of attraction. Watch now as the pace of life spirals into insanity.
Sagittarius is spontaneous, always down for new experiences and adventure. Mars in Sagittarius brings joyful, kinetic energy to our bodies. So much in fact, that it is easy to get carried away. Ask all the important questions. Do your research and listen to your body. I know moving slowly is the last thing we feel like doing under fiery skies. But if we don’t take our time, we will miss crucial details.
We can see very clearly how this played out the last time Mars was in Sagittarius in January and February 2020. The deadly coronavirus was not taken seriously as it spread insidiously across the planet. In the United States especially, a fatal attitude of disregard led directly to the demise of thousands of people. Ignorance is not always bliss. This is what we must revisit now collectively, this question of how much Truth we are willing to face together.
If we want to survive and thrive, we must be more honest with ourselves. And we must hold others more fully accountable. This is what it’s like in the high court of Sagittarius, where golden staffs gleam in the light of Truth. It’s not just about adventure and curiosity. It’s about having the courage to look something in the eye and do something about it. It’s about action. It’s about linking thoughts, words, intentions, and actions all together. This is the locus of real change.

Dec 19: Venus Retrograde in Capricorn begins
Dec 21: Winter Solstice / 1st day of Capricorn Season
Dec 28: Jupiter re-enters Pisces
Jan 11: Mars square Neptune in Pisces. Things can get so unexpectedly weird and tense with this unusual square. You may feel inexplicably angry. When Neptune is aspected negatively, life feels dreamlike, or perhaps nightmarish. Inner turmoil could spill outward as an explosive confrontation. Watch for fatigue and mood swings. Negative outcomes include settling for something you don’t want and feeling disappointed, or internalizing strong (hurt) feelings. Antidotes include: music, writing, meditation, long walks, and asking for help.
Jan 14: Mercury Retrograde begins
Jan 19: Aquarius Season begins
Idealism is Sagittarius’ main power source, like a new star blooming in the night sky, or a rainbow comet blazing through the darkness. If you were born with Mars in Sagittarius, this transit is your Mars return. To find your personal Mars sign, click here.
