The Waning Last Quarter Moon rises at midnight, peaks at dawn, and sets at noon all over the world, no matter your time zone. At this station, the defiant moon in Aquarius squares the solid Taurus sun. What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? Bitch we’re about to find out.

Last quarter moons are turning points or crossroads, clearing the way for the new moon / new lunar cycle. This phase prepares us for the Partial New Moon Solar Eclipse in Taurus on Apr 30.

Aquarius is the zodiac’s eccentric daredevil, ruling friendship and circulation of people and ideas. He is an exuberant, excitable archetype who loves to dance and move about in wild ways. Taurus, on the other hand, wants to wrap us in deep layers of comfort and stability. She welcomes everyone into her home, her garden, her patch of earth. When quirky one-man-traveling-circus Aquarius arrives, he upends this whole earthen notion of safety and security. He forces us to be adaptable and open-minded.

How do you react when everything changes? This is the locus of our work now. The Last Quarter Moon in Aquarius forces us out of our comfort zones. So we have to nourish two needs at once: the need to be grounded (Taurus) and the need to think and act freely (Aquarius).

This moon phase can be taxing on the mind and spirit. It is at once puzzling, stimulating, and demanding. There might be chaos, disappointment, aggression, conflict, or people just running around like crazy. The more we can detach emotionally, the smoother it will be for all involved.
