The Waning Last Quarter Moon rises at midnight, peaks at dawn, and sets at noon in all time zones. At this station, the unpredictable moon in Aquarius squares the solid Taurus sun, and not for the first time this year. In fact Taurus Season began with this same quarter moon on Apr 20, so consider this round 2! I’m sorry again that I missed that first post </3 but let’s talk about it now!

Last quarter moons are crossroads following the full moon, important moments to pause and consider our next move. Here Aquarius clears the way for the new moon / new lunar cycle in upcoming Gemini.

What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? Sometimes it means massive change, like tectonic plates shifting. Sometimes it is a massive dose of energy and confidence which propels us in new, unforeseen directions.

Aquarius is the zodiac’s eccentric daredevil, ruling circulation of intellectual inspiration across the galaxy. He is an exuberant, excitable archetype who loves to dance and move in wild ways. Taurus, on the other hand, wraps us in deep layers of comfort and stability. She welcomes everyone to her home, her garden, her patch of earth. When quirky Aquarius arrives, he challenges Taurus’ platform of safety and security.

We have to nourish two needs at once: the need to be secure (Taurus) and the need to think and act freely (Aquarius). How do you react when everything changes? What about positive change? Are you prepared for things to turn out better than expected? The Last Quarter Moon in Aquarius forces us out of our comfort zone but it is not always abrasive; sometimes it is just exactly what we need in order to see things in a different way, to take in all the facets and opportunities.

Aquarius is so wonderful and generous and friendly. Though he is shocking, at times he brings pleasant surprises, and it is optimism that I would like to call on now that I see that this moon phase will square Uranus in Taurus. Uranus, ruler of Aquarius, is the harbinger of the unexpected. We will need to be highly adaptable at this quarter moon, especially considering that it comes just hours before the beginning of Gemini Season. This influx of air is here to stay and it will leave nothing untouched!

Aquarian influence is at once unusual, stimulating, and draining. There might be chaos or scattered thoughts. More than anything, however, Aquarius is a powerful social connecter and creative booster. This is the perfect time to share your artistry with the world. In flows confidence, out flows doubt.
