Jupiter in Cancer 🦀 2025-2026

artist: Sabrena Khadija

June 9, 2025 – June 30, 2026

It takes 12 years for Jupiter to circle the Sun. Twelve constellations in twelve years = one year per constellation. This next year Jupiter travels through Cancer, a water sign ruling home, family, and roots.

Since May 2024, Jupiter has been twirling in the mad breeze of Gemini. Jupiter rules Sagittarius. Who sits directly opposite Sagittarius in the zodiac wheel? Gemini. Jupiter is a scattered, wild force in Gemini, so far from his fiery domain. Jupiter in Gemini activates our creativity and intellect but never seems to be able to bring projects to completion. This transit exudes a chaotic, paradoxical energy. We feel inspired – and inspired to share what we create – but a nameless, non-constructive restlessness keeps us perpetually distracted.

Despite the lack of focus, we are brainstorming, socializing, and dancing around faster than fairies in the moonlight. All kinds of relationships are explored in Gemini’s social world. Jupiter in Gemini is also an inquiry of identity, presentation, and communication. We are downloading new thoughts and perceptions, receiving upgrades, and staying true to ourselves. I personally feel more queer than ever <3 Jupiter in Gemini’s nonstop motion induces a tired but wired state. We are learning to pause, breathe, and communicate everything with honesty. It’s time to make sense of this wind which changes direction every 3 seconds. As this confusing transit comes to a close, connections emerge from the turbulence. All the disparate pieces circle around like birds dropping into formation from the clouds; everything we have learned, everyone we have met.

Think back to June 2013-July 2014. What was going on in your life? These same themes are now about to rush back with the tide as Jupiter returns to Cancer for the first time in 12 years.

Jupiter in Cancer is welcome relief for weary hearts. Cancer is the first water in the zodiac, flowing wherever there is least resistance. Visualize a vast, warm ocean teeming with glittering starfish and giant turquoise turtles. In her shallow waters, a massive oyster opens slowly to reveal a soft bed dotted with pink pearls. Curl up inside this shell and discover the deep soul comfort that only Cancer can provide. She is the great mother of all, the supreme embodiment of divine feminine energy radiating fearlessly from the moon.

Jupiter in Cancer is the freedom to feel and the freedom to live according to the heart. Cancer eases conflict by showing us a higher truth, which is always rooted in unconditional love. Jupiter in Cancer draws us home to retrace our matrilineal roots and revisit the past. The last time Jupiter transited Cancer, I was in a queer relationship, living at home on the shores of Lake Michigan with my mom, working at a bakery, applying to art school, and getting certified as a yoga instructor. I can’t imagine a more Cancerian experience :p

Jupiter in Cancer is a time of emotional reckoning, catharsis, and healing. Tenderness surfaces in great bubbles from the depths of Cancer’s subconscious ocean. The primary objective is actually subjective. Cancer is pure feeling, intuition, memory, instinct. She is not logically oriented like Gemini, but all heart. Her waters are mysterious in their timing and rhythm, operating according to mystical forces that only womxn understand.

Cancer is not new or exploratory in nature. The crab is all that is deeply familiar, like home and family. One way or another, her subtle waters will lead us home. Here we will sit with friends and family and reminisce. We will talk to one another kindly, patiently, with calm and clarity. Jupiter in Cancer does not seek to reopen old wounds. She wants only to heal, to soothe, to protect. She fosters mutual understanding and compassion.

Jupiter in Cancer also seeks tranquility in body and mind. This year we will nourish ourselves and rest deeply. Self-care will emerge and remain a top priority. We will not compromise when it comes to health or rest. This is a year to move slowly, stay home, and sleep. Jupiter in Cancer is the ultimate restoration of our energy on all levels. I’m so excited for all of us to begin to feel better.

Reconnecting with our roots, eating well, caring for ourselves, sleeping, breathing, working patiently and compassionately towards closure – these are all powerful practices which help restore internal balance. The goal is to be friends with ourselves and love ourselves by recognizing our wholeness. Cancer does not repress anything. She is so cosmic that she is beyond androgynous, beyond gender, beyond human notions. She is pure love and energy.

Be honest with yourself: what yearns to be acknowledged in your heart? Which emotional thorns have accumulated over the last 12 years? It’s time to listen to our inner child and care for her. The heart opens wider, unlocking new levels of understanding. Let’s heal our relationship with self and family and discover that we all wanted peace this whole time <3

All things self-care for the rest of 2025. Healthy meals, baths, trips to the lake/ocean, family time, stretching, breathing, long walks. One long exhale to help us coast through the madness…

June 15: Jupiter square Saturn in Aries. Saturn, force of conservation, confronts Jupiter, force of expansion. This square is all about our conception of how capable we are. Many opportunities will come our way – and we are perfectly qualified! – but will we self-sabotage out of fear and doubt? Will imposter syndrome keep us from saying yes to life-changing new directions? Saturn’s influence (aka massive pressure!) indicates a period of major growth. This is an excellent time to take risks and start something new, we just have to believe that we are capable. New chapters, new careers, new everything. No matter what, we will exit this square feeling more mature and more prepared to handle the inherent difficulty of life.

June 18: Quarter Moon in Pisces + Jupiter square Neptune in Aries. Soooo much mutable energy swirling around here. We’ll be so restless that it will be necessary to go out and dance late into the night. The Jupiter-Neptune squares launches the mind far, far into the future. Sparkling visions of what could be are rapidly becoming reality. And you know what, some things are working out even better than we had planned. This square represents a critical juncture in which we can both celebrate our progress and continue to catch glimpses of the future, arriving faster very day.

This is so beautifully described–really appeals to the felt sense. As a natal Jupiter in cancer person, this is really resonating deeply. So supportive, thank you!! 🙏🏻
