Uranus Retrograde in Taurus ♅ Aug 24 – Jan 22
Aug 24, 2022 – Jan 22, 2023
Planets in retrograde are not spinning backwards – it is an optical illusion as seen from Earth due to the fact that planets travel at their own respective speeds around the sun. In astrology, this illusion manifests as a “backwards” functioning of the planetary roles. Click here to learn more about retrograde.
Uranus first entered Taurus in 2018 and will remain here until 2026. Uranus turns retrograde for five months every year. Now it’s time to review Uranian lessons from 2022. Taurus the bull represents home, money, and material resources. With Uranus in Taurus we are moving away from antiquated systems which exacerbate material and socioeconomic divisions. We see the influence of Uranus in Taurus in movements like resistance to single-use plastic. Fossil fuel industries will hopefully collapse by 2026. The wise will invest in renewable energy or newly discovered (waste-free) resources.
Uranus is social and collective in nature. With Uranus Retrograde in Taurus, it is time to pool our capital. Wealth shall no longer belong to the individual, but to the community. This is true also of cohabitation. We will live together more and more, sharing land and dwellings. With proper allocation, we have everything we need. Let’s reimagine what it means to be rich.
Retrograde cycles uproot jobs, relationships, perspectives, and behaviors which have calcified over time and no longer represent our highest vibration / what we need / who we are. You may feel more restless during the coming months, but certainly not lost. New levels of conscious awareness are rapidly attained under such conditions. Uranus systematically peels everything away until we are independent badasses.
Uranus Retrograde lifts long-forgotten veils, dusty drapes concealing incendiary, insurrectionary spirits. During Uranus Retrograde we reexamine our rebel nature. When Uranus turns direct again, we will set the newly hatched rebel free, once the subtle restraints and inhibitions of the retrograde have faded into the solid earth.
Let’s talk about Uranus in relation to the outer planets. This planet is very well-situated in Taurus at the moment. Jupiter is currently in Aries and will be joining Uranus in Taurus next year. Saturn has been in Aquarius for a few years now and causing lots of trouble for Uranus with some hard square aspects (especially from Feb-Dec 2021) but we won’t be seeing this aspect again as Saturn will move on to Pisces (finally!) next year and the Aquarius-Taurus tension will fade away to be replaced by a wonderful sextile between Pisces & Taurus. Neptune is also in a wonderfully supportive sextile position in her home constellation of Pisces. And then there’s Pluto in fellow earth sign Capricorn, providing unparalleled support as well. In a nutshell: this year is great, next year will be even better bitttchhh.
