The mercurial Gemini sun squares the equally mercurial waxing moon in Virgo. Moonrise at noon, peak at dusk, moonset at midnight in all time zones.
The first quarter moon is a retrospective following the new moon. First quarter phases clarify our plans going forward. This moon phase follows the New Moon in Gemini on May 26.
Gemini & Virgo are co-ruled by Mercury. Double-Mercury energy means this will be a productive day. When Gemini and Virgo fuse, we are not just working, we are also tuning into the body, mind, and body-mind connection. The purpose of this quarter moon is alignment of thoughts/intentions (Gemini) and daily reality (Virgo).
This process, of examining the discrepancy between intentions and reality, always requires courage. We may be trying to let go of something – old habits, toxic partners – but the letting go is not as straightforward as it seems. We’ve got one foot in two worlds, waking and dreaming, here and there.
